A pro bono community rebuild project focused on restoring stability, safety, and a sense of home – supporting a local family after the devastating impact of the Palisades Fire.
Project Overview
Located in Pacific Palisades, the Whitfield residence is part of a broader community rebuilding effort following the fire. The original home was completely lost, requiring a full reconstruction from the ground up.
SCCD undertook this project as a pro bono initiative, reflecting a commitment to support homeowners during difficult circumstances. Led by Ofir Jacob, the rebuild is being executed with the same level of planning, precision, and craftsmanship as any full-scale private project.
• Full site clearing and preparation
• Structural engineering and foundation construction
• Complete ground-up rebuild
• Installation of modern electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
• Fire-resistant materials and safety-focused construction
• Interior finishing and final detailing
The Challenge
Rebuilding after fire requires careful coordination, structural planning, and strict adherence to updated safety regulations. The project demanded a balance between resilience, efficiency, and delivering a comfortable living environment.
Additionally, as a pro bono project, maintaining high-quality standards while managing resources efficiently was essential.
Our Rebuild Approach
Complete Site Recovery
The process began with clearing fire-damaged debris and preparing the site for a new structural start.
Reinforced Foundation
A new engineered foundation was constructed to ensure long-term durability and compliance with modern building standards.
Fire-Resistant Construction
We implemented non-combustible materials, upgraded insulation, and safety-focused design elements to improve resilience against future risks.
Modern Systems Integration
Electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems were installed to meet current efficiency and safety requirements.
Craftsmanship & Detail
SCCD maintained full involvement throughout the project, ensuring every phase – from engineering coordination to final finishes – was completed with precision and care.
Even as a community-driven initiative, the same level of quality control and attention to detail was applied at every stage.
More Than Rebuilding
The Whitfield project reflects SCCD’s commitment to giving back to the community – helping families recover, rebuild, and move forward with confidence.
This is not just construction. It is about restoring stability, rebuilding trust, and supporting the people behind every project.
